After replacing the PRAM battery, OWC Newer Technology brand, in my brother's 400MHz Pismo running 10.4.9 I reconfigured the Date and Time setting to reflect the presence. However, every time I clicked on the Set the Date and Time Automatically, the setting would revert to 1969 date and time. Any idea how to fix the problem? TiA

Does it loose the date and time or just never set it when you put it on automatic? When you set it for automatic normally you first set the network time option and click on update now(or something simmilar) - once it has a date and time then you set it to update when it is connected to a network. If it looses the date and time, it sounds like a bad battery or a just not plugged in properly. You could try reseating the connection.

set it manually first, then shutdown. Restart a few minutes later and see if it held the time.

Thanks Mike. That did it.
