Been waiting for a decent refurb deal on 15" MBP and noticed all the PowerBooks available. Who's buying yesterday's technology at today's prices?

If you go to sites like Amazon and macconnection it gets pretty close in price to what the Apple store charges with tax.

Yeah, but they're PowerBooks. Aren't they just a bunch of leftovers from back in the day?

You have to pay a premium for the Classic compatibility.

Oh, Powerbooks, I am still not used to the whole macbook pro naming thing. PB are a premium because of places such as my work who have software that must be run in classic.

I've noticed that, too. I can't believe what the refurbs are getting for the PowerBook 12 inchers. amazing.

What sort of prices are you waiting for on the MBPs? The store has been stocked, at least earlier in the day.
I'm waiting for my $1300 15" MBP to arrive.

Rats mattkime. There are only 17" ones there now. I'm hoping for a minimum 2.0Ghz 15" for your $1300 price.

Boy, you have rigid standards. Early yesterday they _did_ have $1300 machines but 8.5% slower than your standard. I'm sure it would really cramp your style.
