Not unreasonable, from a business point of view.

If the iPhone wasn't EDGE I'd give those rates two thumbs up...way up. But seems rather meh with EDGE speed. I mean how much data are you really going to use at 2x dial-up speed.

Big question for me now is, if you want to upgrade to iPhone 2.0 next year will they let you piggy back on the old contract or are they going to nail you for another 2 year extention (total 3 years now) as is the current practice.

Still good rates to lure people in. I just hope EDGE doesn't blow up the whole iPhone concept. I'm anxiousl waiting for real user reports this weekend.

I didn't realize this:

"Minimum new 2-year wireless service plan and activation fee required to activate iPhone features, including iPod; "

Just the iPod part.

They have this on the page:

"If you’re already an AT&T customer and want to keep your current voice plan, you can just add an iPhone Data Plan with unlimited data (email and web) and Visual Voicemail for just $20 per month."

I wonder if "already an AT&T customer" includes those people with plans from Cingular. ???

My guess would actually be No because I doubt they are conpatable with AT&T Wireless SIMs.

It'll be worth a shot I guess. I'm not buying one though, but will be camping out for fun.
