I build the hype. Take her to the Apple Store.
She's excited. KIds are excited.
Sorry, out of stock.
None to be found anywhere.
Check back in a week or two.

With the way they've been selling for Apple, I almost have to believe that's "channel emptying" for a NEW model...
No WAY would Apple stand still for being unable to sell a WEEKS worth of MBP's.

OR I'm completely wrong, and Steve is on the phone raising heck about a supply problem....

Last night showed to be shipping in 7-10 days.
Add shipping time, and it's two weeks out, best I can tell.
Think I'll just check back every few days.

According to the front page of a certain Mac deal site "The Apple Store again has three refurbished MacBook Pro notebooks in stock. "

So maybe you can check the refurbs. Get the model you want and save money at the same time.

What about CompUSA? Is there one in your area? Microcenter? Best Buy sells them.

Just checked Best Buy and they're all out in my area (bay area).

Paul, didn't Apple just update the Macbook Pro's with some kind of new screen or something? Maybe I was drunk that day.
