...oh yeah, and Leopard too...

Amidst the flurry of conversation about new iPods, iPhones, iMacs. etc. etc.,
here I am tapping my feet (and No! not in a toilet stall) wondering why I haven't
heard a peep about how October is less than three weeks away. Apple had
promised a few months ago that Leopard was going to be released in October.
No rumors of an announcement event around the corner, no media chatter about
the forthcoming species-change of the Mac operating system, no accelerating
rampant speculations about surprise secret features.

Still tapping my feet....

stop waving your hand under the forum window. People are starting to complain to the cops....

Silliness asides, you've made a good point. They pulled programmers from Leopard to make the iPhone work. Then they pushed out the iTouch. It would follow that those programmers got 'kept' by the iDevice business unit.

Look for a Halloween release.

Just remember the iPhone's "June" was June 29th. So maybe Leopard will be around Oct 31st or 32nd.

My guess is the 26th.
Last Friday of the month.

It is ODD though that there is not even a peep about a Release Candidate yet. With a little over 45 days until the end of Oct Apple has to be on at least RC1 if they are going to ship ( a reasonably solid product) on time.

That's kinda why I posted this. Thinksecret.com usually notes news about the latest
builds of Leopard; their last news item was on August 28. "August 28, 2007 - Apple's
latest build of Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard is the first to sport signs of finishing touches."

I'm starting to smell a delay beyond October. Please convince me that I'm wrong.

On the other hand, It's not like Leopard is going to rock my world if it's delayed longer.
