Another Question about Canon Ultura DV Camera Battery.
#1
Sorry to bring this up again.

http://forums.macresource.com/read/1/388...msg-388578

It has a Battery Pack BP-915. According to the manual it can use ANY of the following battery packs.

BP-915 (supplied)
BP-914 (optional)
BP-927 (optional)
BP-930 (optional)
BP-941 (optional)

The BP-915 is about 2-3/4" x 1-1/2" x 3/4" and slides into a compartment. I found a nice deal on a BP-941 which according to the manual and auction will fit in a Ultura. However, looking at the image it looks too TALL to fit. Anyone know where I can get dimensions to these batteries?

Amazon has the battery and the image makes the battery look the same size.

From the other thread it sounds like I shouldn't skimp on Li-ion batteries. So, is battery.com, http://www.lenmar.com, http://sterlingtek.com/ or http://www.sabahoceanic.com/ where I should be shopping? Anywhere else? If I get it on e-bay I should get a NAME brand correct?

I'm ordering these today because I'm having another kid on the 11th of December (well, the wife is) and need a new battery that holds the charge. Oh, and should I look at any of the other models or should I get the one that has the longest life?

Thanks for any help.

Did you ever find the Model Number of the Canon camera?
They list those batteries as "Working" with that camera because they slide into an external adaptor that plugs into your camcorder.
Yes, the BP-941 is huge and is listed as working with my Canon, but it doesn't fit in the camcorder!
It does work in the optional dual battery pack though!

Is it this camera?:

If it is, look further down the page at the CH-910 Dual Battery Charger.
That is what you need to use the HUGE batteries.

Yes, that would be the camera.

So, if I do not want an external battery pack can I use anything besides the 915?

The BP-941 battery is about 2.75 inches tall, versus the .75 inch tall 915.
As I said above, the voltage is correct, but it won't fit in the tiny compartment!

Thanks. So, I'll just order a couple of BP-915. That being said, should I just order from a reputable vendor such as one in my first post?

I went through this same exact situation with my Canon Optura.
Ended up with the external pack because I had already purchased two BP-941's from a place that didn't give refunds.

Thanks for the info BGNR... So, what brand batteries do you trust? Yes, I want a good deal but do not have a problem spending $20-$30 / battery if it's from a trusted supplier.

Thanks. Going to see if I can get a battery or two from a reputable dealer.

I found a BP-911 from sterlingtek.com for $17.29 @ 2000 mAh

http://sterlingtek.com/cabpbpbpcaba.html

batteries.com for $24.64 @ 1850 mAh

http://www.batteries.com/productprofile....pid=356299

Does anyone know if the quality between sterlingtek and batteries.com are simular? The warranty is the same and sterlingtek has a better life @ 2000 mAh.

Obviously, I can take my chances and get the TWO batteries for $12 from e-bay.

But, I think the other two sources are safer.
