Argghh... need a new paper shredder, recommendations...?
#1
My Fellowes just apparently died on me ... it was a very nice model, simple but powerful (crosscut, didn't do CDs/DVDs, but otherwise very good). Looking for a replacement, preferably under $100. (Would prefer crosscut, at a minimum able to do credit cards, but preferably also able to do CDs/DVDs. I also have a cheap Staples one I bought for work which works quite well, other than it not being able to do CDs/DVDs.) I see that Staples currently has a number of things on sale, but they seem to have gotten mixed reviews.

Anyone seen any particularly good deals, or have some recommendations? TiA

P.S. ...

Costco $89.99, goes on sale a couple of times a year for $72... Fellowes DM12C, does 12 sheets, x-cut, credit cards, optical discs, paper clips, staples. it's pretty heavy duty; just keep it oiled, and reverse it immediately if you hear it strain. if you feed it gently, 6-8 pages at a time, it'll shred for a long time. IOW don't repeatedly feed it 12 sheets continuously, back off a bit.

Hmmm... I don't see that one online, but a little Googling also turned up this one-- which seems to get pretty good reviews over at Amazon:

You have a house full of hamsters, and you are looking for a paper shredder? I thought you were far wiser than that............. ;-)

Racer X, sure, they'll shred paper, just not very efficiently. Big Grin

The Costco shredder is in-house at their B&M's, and it's kinda like a BTO model for the big box club stores. It's equivalent to their retail models selling for 2.5-3X the price.
