My 9 year old found my wife's old Clamshell Se/466. Battery is toast. So is the spare, So are the three I bought on ebay.
Needless to say I'm not having good luck with clamshell batteries. (and yeah, I did all the zim, zam, pram, nvram, reset and boogie down stuff. The cells are deader than Britney's career.)
So.. any semi-reasonably priced source for these battery packs ? I know OWC has the Newer aftermarket for $119, but that's a bit more than I want to pay.

Hmmm, sorry to hear that -- I did have pretty good luck with ebay, but then I also checked the sellers' feedback ratings very carefully. My remembrance is that there's also a company that sells them pretty cheaply... I think it was a cell phone battery place? Someone here will know...

I buy cellphone stuff from these people and have been satisfied - just got a delivery from them yesterday for my new Nokia cell phone - a couple chargers, case, etc. The cellphone batteries have been OK, but one, way back when, was a tight fit in a Moto cell phone I had at the time, so YMMV.
BTW, my old clamshell 466 is coming home tonight with my ex-wife. The backlight is out and I'm giving her my iBook 900 to replace it. If I can't fix it reasonably I will part it out and it has two batteries - I'll confirm their condition before offering, but I believe they are working well.
I'll confirm run time, but w/o backlight, the number will have to be taken with a grain of salt.
