Six Days to Cloverfield. Viral Marketing Hoax?

How can you develop a serious monster movie with a budget of the published $30 million? 30mm does not buy a lot of CGSE and fake blood.

No reference to budget find it yourself, this is just a fun site.

Maybe a quick hit and run like the Howard Stern movie? Once the believers are sucked in a quick fade to black? Does the release on the last day of the MWSF make this even more suspicious? Those Illuminati are clever.

The Howard Stern Movie "Private Parts" was a huge hit and made a ton of money.
Also was a very good movie, it was a love letter to his wife.
Just because you hate something there is no need to lie.

Can't wait for this movie - my kids have been so excited, ever since the first teaser trailer six months ago.

We are definitely going to be there on Friday...

"Private Parts" did an amazing first week and then dropped fast. Not a lot of staying power. Did not mean anything about funniness of movie or Howard.

Also, the next week it went head to head against the re-released Star Wars which had moved it's re-release date back a week to not go directly against "Private Parts".

The feel of Cloverfield (from the trailer) reminds me of how The Blair Witch Project felt.

I saw that one early enough that there wasn't a lot of reviews or hype built up.

I was glad to have seen it during the day. I know a lot of people didn't care for it.

incognegro - same thought exactly; a "Blair Witch Project meets Godzilla" kind of thing.

As for Cloverfield; good example of viral marketing. Have been following off and on since the summer. Was a lot of fun trying to find clues.

Seems like kind of a quiet campaign. Even Blair Witch had more buzz associated with it.

I have $2 that says it's the Stay-Puft Marshmallow man...
