New Macbook in da house !

So, bowing to two months of pestering (despite arguing that "Hey- Macworld is coming up, they're gonna have something better"), we hied off the Apple store last night so my daughter could pick out her very own Macbook. She went for 'fashion' and picked out the Black mode. And since she's clumsy the clear snap on cover, keyboard cover, and a 'cute' polkadot case to put it into. Which won't fit her school books, purse contents, etc.

I do NOT understand women- Why do they have to carry umpteen bags and whatnots when one decent backpack will do ? Perhaps she's got her boyfriend carrying crap for her. Hmm. I'll have to ask him about that.

So we have a happy daughter playing with her new Macbook at home. Yay ! And she's not pestering me any more. Double Yay !

Now I need to fix her old Blueberry iBook (Oddly enough- won it in a DM contest !) and find it a worthy home.

Once my daughter got her first laptop, an original blueberry iBook (like yours, I reckon), she quickly learned to use a backpack, where the iBook could rest when riding her bike on campus and hide on long train rides to and from college.

She has had a G4 iBook for a few years now; I have the blueberry iBook. With no Airport card, 3GB HD, 90MB RAM, OS 9.1, there really is no market. Maybe I could get $100. So unless I find some use for it, it joins my collection of obsolete Macs (2 SEs, one IICX, two IIfxs, and my still-useful-for-Pagemaker-and-MacMoney blue G3).

JUST B4 THE EXPO LEADER!

My Macbook has been taken over for the past week. And will be next week as well. My daughter finely decided to have the ankle she sprained last February surgically repaired. She's in a cast that has to stay elevated. And she is staying downstairs. So I gave her my Macbook and I moved her G5 iMac to my desk.

This is a good test, because she'll be at college next Fall and she may want a MacBook there instead of her iMac. She's getting a good chance to see how she likes having a laptop as a primary machine.

a good b-day present would be more ram -- its never been cheaper -- 1/3 the cost it was a few months ago
