NETFLIX: All you can watch

Good news for us.
We have one PC hooked up through the TV just for this purpose.

I have not checked their instant-view collection, but I hear it's pretty lame. at least this is what people over at SlickDeals complain about. And I don't even have a PC yet (although I bring my Dell laptop home occasionally)

That seems pretty sweet if the library is not as lame as you hear.
It would be nicer to do this streaming through my AppleTV (or via plug-in). I would consider a subscription just for that. Of course we'll see what Apple has to offer on Tuesday, but I am not expecting an "all-you-can-watch" plan.

Yeah, it kind of sucks. Instead of thinking of a movie, then finding it on Netflix, you pretty much just have to search their limited online catalog and find something that looks interesting. There are some decent movies on there, but I only see the "watch online" option for about 5-10% of the movies I put in my queue.

It is good enough, and it will get better.
I recently downgraded to the $5.99/month option, so this unlimited option will be good. And if you stream them through the Tivo.... EDIT: Oops! Spoke too soon. FTA: "Only the small portion of Netflix customers who pay $4.99 to rent up to two DVDs per month won't be provided unlimited access to the streaming service."

"All you can watch if you have a Windows OS"

Just install Fusion and Windows and you're ready to roll. Works great on our 2.16 GHz iMac.

So that I can have the fantastic bonus of being able to watch Netflix movies on a computer? I'll need a better reason than that to load Windows OS Actually, we already have Parallels via Boot camp. I wouldn't engage Windows just to watch a Netflix movie if my life depended on it. Too many better ways to view movies natively, or better yet, preferably on a nice TV screen instead of a computer display. I'd rather wait and see what AppleTV has in store. Maybe there'll be an announcement regarding that, maybe not.

It is a free adjunct to watching Netflix DVDs on your TV. In that context (and with a 24" screen like the one on our iMac), yes, it is quite nice.
