Red Box DVD Rental?
#1
Tried one at our local Albertson's Supermarket last weekend. A buck for a day of rental. Not bad. Customer service was good as well ... we had a little trouble returning the DVD. The call waiting was about five minutes. The annoying part was the advertisement. Has anyone else tried Red Box?

Kap,

it sounds similar to the DVDExpress Kiosks I've seen at local Pathmarks and Waldbaums here in NY. In fact, the Waldbaums that;s within a two minute walking distance of my hosue has one. It's convenient enough that I'll probably give it a try before getting a membership with an online DVD rental shop and/or rent movies from Apple.

Love Red Box. I usually order on line then pick up at the store so I don't make wasted trip.

I like red box. These free codes might work:
oops, newyear, holiday, breakroom, & winter
or could be expired

I don't know about other locales but it is true here.

I picked a few up on Sunday on the way out of the grocery store. Easy enough to use and a decent selection of movies for the kids. Picked up two recent Disney releases that my boys wanted to see.

About 3 weeks ago I had a problem returning the dvd I rented from RedBox in an Albertson's. It seemed like the machine took it back okay, but it evidently didn't. I saw a $3 charge on my credit card from them for a one-day rental. Called them up and explained the dvd didn't go back in very well. She deducted the extra $2 off my credit card without giving me any hassle. Next time I'll put in my email address so I get a receipt.

The two redbox kiosks I use never send me a receipt even though they have my email address.
