I have a Radeon 8500 with tv out in my quicksilver. I have never even tried the feature.
Anyone know if it works and how well?
Think it would work with itunes and movie rentals hooked to a regular s video connection on a TV?

I have a 8500 in my Hot Rod Sawtooth. The SVHS out sucks. However, it works in a pinch. I wish I had a Wave Form Monitor and Vector Scope so I could tell you where the signal out of the SVHS is lacking, but all I can say is it's very washed out looking.
Remember, the 8500 only supports two monitors, so the SVHS out is not available when two computer monitors are already connected. When I was playing with the SVHS out I had to disconnect one of my monitors. Maybe the poor video quality was due to the fact that the 8500 still had to split its resources between two monitors. Try running the SVHS out with no other monitors connected.
Another thing is I would play a video with the Quicktime player in full screen. The 8500 did not display the video like a regular TV. That is, it played the video as if the TV were a computer monitor, I could see the over scan.
Well, there ya go.
Cheers!

I've had a Radeon 8500 installed in my computer for years - but never tried the S-Video out connection. In response to motopsyco's comments - the ATI Display's System Preference Mac2TV setting has an adjustable aspect ratio, position onscreen and overscan settings - so you should be able to get a good picture.
