Latest updates has me staring @ big type DOS screen-NO BOOTABLE DEVICE ATTACHED
#1
Nice.......

reboot, that's what I get in 10.5.1 after loading QT, iTunes, FrontRow & iMovie.

Have to reboot again, with Option down to find HD.

Permissions REPAIR, but DiskUtility locks up on First Aid REPAIR.

Safari is BeachBall city now too. This is third time I've been burned on auto-updates. One for each of the last three OS releases.

Single user mode, Command+S on startup...

File system check, enter this text at the prompt...

fsck -fy

If only there were a solution to this problem. Smile

That is why I have two identical bootable OS disks and only install one app at a time and check it out thoroughly before installing the next app. I have been burned in the past also.

I always use Software Update and have never had a problem.

Once you get it running again, install Applejack. Saved my bacon multiple times.
