Wii question regarding cables (not component hookup)
#1
Hi all,

I am trying to search and find a solution for the new Wii. Just got Dance, Dance, Revolution for the youngsters and you are supposed to plug the floor mat into the back of the Wii box. There is a proprietary connector for this, of course. The Wii is hooked up to the AV system in the closet and this allows the use of the projector and really large screen. The controllers work via the wireless controller bar. What I need is a solution for plugging the mat into the back of the Wii box. If there were some sort of extension, I could plug that in and run it out of the AV closet and be able to plug the DDR mat into it. Anyone know of any such beast?

A secondary question would be: Is it worth the $20 or so to go to the 480p with component cables?

Thanks

I bought this component cable on the recommendations of others for $9. Haven't hooked it up yet as I have to do a little rearranging of hook-ups.

Which port does the mat use? One of the Gamecube ports?

$5.78, including shipping from Hong Kong for the Component cable:

I'm happy with the results on my setup, but I see faint horizontal lines in the Mii channel splash screen. I'm guessing it isn't 480P. Or perhaps they've always been there.

The mats plug into one of the four ports on the top of the box. Are you looking for a cable that just extends the mat cable? I assume that's what you're asking. I'd like to know too, just in case I need a few.

the 4 ports on the top are "Gamecube" ports.

you want something like an extender cable.

Thanks! That is exactly what I need. I didn't realize that it was a "gamecube" port that I was looking to extend. Now I can run that extension thru the wall and plug the mat into it whenever the kids get out DDR to play. Appreciate the input.
