mac mini display issue 1680x1050
#1
Picked up a 1.86ghz mac mini yesterday but I am having display problems. It doesn't want to recognise my 22" acer display at native resolution. The 1680x1050 does not appear in the monitors menu until I reboot/juggle with the resolutions in the monitors panel and even rotate the display. I have manged to set it correctly twice, but it looses the 1680x1050 out of the selection on a reboot and waking from sleep.

Anyone know a permanent fix for this? I googled and found that it was known issue, but I got the impression it was fixed as the pages I found were older.

After the 3rd fresh install plus a trip to the store I got it in, it seems to be finding the monitor properly now. However, I have only rebooted/put it too sleep a couple of times so I may be premature in concluding it is solved. Not the kind of experience I m used to with macs since 1991. Then again it is the first mac I have that didn't have a built in monitor (all in one or laptop).

Fingers crossed. ;-)

DVI or VGA? If it's DVI then you definitely have a problem.
