Me too, I think I still have 6 or so 37cent stamps (from a booklet of 20!). I pay all my bills online, so it's very rare that I ever mail anything.

I found a partial book of 37 cent stamps that fell out of a book here in the library. Must have been used as a book mark. Oh well, will just need to get some 5 cent'rs.

Been buying the "forever stamps" again since March, so I'm set for a bit. I think I'll only buy those hereon out.

From the USPS Site:

Lower additional-ounce price for presorted First-Class Mail letters.
Lower pound price for Standard Mail saturation and high-density flats.

Ah. Higher mailing prices for us plus more junk mail. I can't wait.

We would be stocking up on forever stamps as well...if they weren't butt-ugly. You see, my wife is still a big fan of actually WRITING to people. She send a lot of letters. And her letters are like little projects for her. She likes to choose nice stamps. Something the forever stamps are FAR from.

I applaud your wife and her continuing personal touch. I wish I knew her so she could write to me. It is rapidly becoming a lost art.

I remember when receiving a letter was a real joy!

In the grand scheme of things, the cost of a stamp is trivial compared to the joy it brings when attached to a letter.

Same here. Bought a whole bunch a few years back for invitations, still using them up. I have two sheets of 1 cents stamps I have been using to make up the difference. It's kind of fun sticking 4-5 stamps on those tiny envelopes. I'd like to see someone at the post office try and complain about having too many stamps on an envelope, just one time...

I heard the 1ยข stamp costs more than that to produce.
