anybody use airtreks? Other 'round the world ticket options
#1
Hi folks

I'm trying to book an around-the-world ticket..CA, .Italy, Turkey, Thailand, CA...lots of good reviews for airtreks.com. Anybody use them before? My travel agent gave me some obscene quote and the airtreks quote is significantly lower.

I've also heard there are ways of manipulating the 'round-the-world tickets so you don't have to always travel the same direction, etc. Anybody have any good knowledge in this area?

thanks

Not a clue... but I have to say, cool plan!

How long a layover at each stop? Or is it just one ridiculously long flight with quick gas-up stops? (that would be a little LESS cool...).

14-20 days in Northern Italy (Cinque Terre, Florence or something like that), 10 days in Istanbul visiting friends, 30-45 days in Thailand...

VERY cool!

Won't you run out of teenage hookers in Thailand in 30-45 days?
(Kidding! KIdding!)

Maybe I need to start looking at some deals like that..
I say "looking at" becuase I can't afford to actually DO them.. but you know, might be fun to plan.

My wife and I flew around the world for our honeymoon. Just over 3 months.
One carry-on bag each. No checked luggage.

When we took our trip 2 one-way tickets was the cheapest option.

1st ticket: Los Angeles-Seattle-Tokyo-Manilla-Bangkok-Kathmandu.
2nd ticket: New Delhi-Karachi-Frankfurt-Los Angeles.
