Top bands you never got to see
#1
Lots of bands quit or have members who die, thus preventing you from ever seeing them perform live. What bands/artists did you never get a chance to see live? (And presumably never will?)

Here are my top 5

1. Jimmi Hendrix
2. Led Zeppelin (original members)
3. Nirvana
4. Sublime
5. Alice in Chains

I have sort of resolved to actually go see all the bands I like, now, before they kick the bucket. There are probably many many others I have not considered.

I've gotten to see most of my favorites. I think I'm just missing Bowie and Adam Ant.

I'm off to see my favorite band this weekend!

The Beatles
Led Zeppelin
The 'hoo (Keith Moon Era)

But I can't stand crowds. Especially obnoxious ones that tend to gather at concerts. I saw the DMB and had lawn tickets. So many obnoxious A-holes, that I will never get lawn tix again.

Edit to add the non-super-bands:

Ramones
Buzzcocks
Sex Pistols

Glen Miller
Frank Sinatra with Nelson Riddle
Beatles

But I did catch Jimi Hendrix, The Who (both with and without the Loon), Cream, Pink Floyd (both with and without Syd), Rolling Stones, The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead and a whole host more so I count myself very lucky.

I saw most of who I wanted but never what able to snatch tix to R.E.M. back in the day (mid to late '80) b/c they always played a micro-sized venues and scalpers wanted the moon for them. (The IRS era R.E.M and the WB era R.E.M. are really two different bands as far as I'm concerned).
