Wow. The Dell SP2008WFP Really IS a Mirror.

Just a quick followup to an earlier thread today: http://forums.macresource.com/read/1/489701

To summarize it: I ordered a Dell 2008WFP monitor not realizing it was a glossy screen. (The Dell site makes no mention, but a user review complained it was like a mirror.

You can see the guy's lamp appear as he takes the protective covering off. It really is a mirror. I'm def. getting this thing back on the truck to Dell as soon as it hits my door.

Why don't you try it out first to see how it performs in your environment.

When the kid holds up the monitor to face his iMac and the new monitor shows a mirror image of the the iMac I don't need to waste my time to see how it will perform. It's like knowing the fire is hot and you shouldn't touch it. Dell really should be more explicit that this is a glossy monitor. I won't get fooled again. [cue The Who].

You have to get the angles just so to be a pain in the a$$.

I almost sent my first glossy screen back, but I moved my desk. Moving the desk ended up being win-win.

Glossy is quite vivid. Nice if you can move things around to avoid the reflections.
