Does anyone here have personal experience buying from Rainbow Appliance on-line?

Considering a major purchase for the MIL kitchen and Rainbow Appliance in NJ has the best price by far.

She is looking at buying a 36" Frigidaire Gas Rangetop, 24" Frigidaire Gas Double Oven and 42" Broan Range Hood (to fit the existing cabinets).

The savings isslightly more than $300 (including delivery) over a local purchase!

A quick look at epinions shows both good and bad reviews. The bulk of the poor reviews seem to be from folks that won items on eBay, but I thought it couldn't hurt to ask for an opinion from the folks that count the most, the gang here at MRF!

I can't speak directly to Rainbow Appliance, but I have had good success with US Appliance at http://www.us-appliance.com/

Prompt, free shipping, communicative. I have NOT compared the two . . .

I did great through Buy-appliances.com's ebay outlet -- http://stores.ebay.com/Buy-Appliances_W0...idZ2QQtZkm

But they don't handle fridgidare, but prices on the open box items are very good and it can't hurt to look at what they have.

Harbor,

Don't know anything about them. I'm getting ready to drop nearly $10K on appliances and a new TV for my apartment. At this point, I've priced them out at two local companies and they're pretty comparable. Now it's time to see what Sears, Lowes and Home Depot can do for me.

I'm definitely buying locally. If this was a computer, I'd buy online but for heavy appliances, I want the backing of a local company. That way, in the event there is an issue, I can go directly to the store and get them to take care of it. They'll also likely to deliver with their own truck whose loaders and drivers are more likely to have experience than a standard LTL carrier when it comes to delivering home appliances.
