I have no response to that...or else I would ruin it for AlphaDog.

Suffice it to say that saying the ending was left hanging was the understatement of understatements.

I actually had more trouble with events that occurred in the previous 5 episodes or so. The way his relationship with Melfi dissolved was not satisfying considering that the whole premise of the show was a neurotic mobster forced to seek psychiatric help. That was the gimmick and their split seemed forced and underwritten.
I felt refreshed that Chase chose to resist the obvious "hell to pay" ending because the Sopranos wasn't really "about" the violence per se, but how Tony managed his family and emotions amid the pressures of being a mob boss. All the stuff with Bobby Bacala and Tony seemed pushed to the forefront and took away time from more interesting things. I enjoyed (finally) Anthony Jr., blossoming as an annoying yet more interesting character. I Loved The Sopranos overall. Some of the best times I ever had watching television were spent watching that show.

"Don't Stop Believing" / "Any Way You Want It". 'Nuff said.

For all the complaining about it (not here - but in general) I thought it was classic David Chase
Throughout the series he often left lots of loose end and open endings. He often left "endings" up to the viewers conclusions instead of defining what he though we should think. I think that was a great part of the run. There were many episodes that I walked away feeling conflicted. I think folks were expecting a wiz bang Hollywood ending when instead, Tony rambles along touched in some ways and untouched in others and leaving "the ending" up to the viewers imagination

It's not exactly like Tony and all of the rest of the survivors came to an end. We just stopped getting to hang with him. I think that's really pretty cool. I liked the ending; I found it jarring, but I liked it in an artistic way.
