LONDON, England (AP) -- Nobel literature prize winner Doris Lessing says she is unlikely to write a new full-length novel, according to excerpts of an interview released Sunday.

"All I do is give interviews and spend time being photographed," Lessing was quoted as saying in the radio interview, which will be broadcast Monday.

During the 1993 St. Louis flood, my father felt this phenomenon first hand. His research in the way that US Army Corps of Engineers flood "control" systems actually worsened floods, his stature as a local university professor, and his rugged looks and wild shock of silver hair combined to make him a sought after 'talking head' on everyone's Rolodex. He gave about 10 interviews a day for about three days, then my mom took the phone off the hook and made him sleep in.
It's sad- the media feeding frenzy can actually cause this sort of problem.
