Follup: One Expensive Joint

Follow up to this posting:

Well, my daughter's fiancee passed his drugs screen and physical. It appears that 'second hand pot' didn't show, or they had the levels set high enough so it wasnt an issue.

He does understand that that's something he will NEVER do again. Now he can start learning how to be a 'workin man'.

Of course, that lesson was never apply for a job that requires a drug test.Smile-D

Times have changed since my long past herbal days (28 years ago).

Now if you want to be cool or rebellious; then you can also be unemployed and homeless.

Not even worth it.

Or you can pass the test, get the job and then be "cool or rebellious" since some places only want to test you once before hiring you.

Unfortunately some people seem to get something out of it, or at least think they do-- only those who don't can look back on it as something they only did to be cool.

Once upon a time I worked in a tox lab for the state, testing urine specimens from all the not-for-profit methadone clinics in northern Illinois. We had a standard set of tests: opiates, cocaine, amphetamines, barbiturates. Special request only: THC, LSD, mescaline, etc. Rarely got one for THC, only when they'd really had it with someone and wanted to bust them off their program. We tried to discourage it, too. The test was expensive and time consuming, and you needed a BIG specimen because you got a lot of false positives: run it three times and if you only got one positive they were "clean." I could get a positive from anyone reading this, your kids, your mom and dad, your dog, etc. A BS test for a BS drug problem, how appropriate. Google "Hill Street Blues Amsterdam". They don't have a problem, so what's our problem?
