I know, tough question to answer, but I need to get a second remote and figure I should try something besides the sports games that came with it. The last thing I played on a game machine was tetris on a game boy (yeah, I'm kinda out of it) (well maybe WAY out of it) I value your opinions though.

Depends on what kind of games that you like. If you like platformers, I loved SuperMario Galaxy. Super Paper Mario is also a fun mix of platform game and RPG elements. If you like adventure games, Legend of Zelda is awesome. If you like light-hearted brainless (and family friendly) fun, I thought Carnival Games was fun.
Anyway, check ign.com or gamespot.com for reviews and videos.

What binky said re/depends on what you like.
Our family has a lot of fun with the first RAYMAN'S RAVING RABBIDS. It makes good use of the Wii's controllers and is multiplayer.

Zelda was fantastic, fun for the entire family. We actually treated it more like a movie as the story is really good. We let my 12 year old beat the bosses (and pretty much play the whole game).
Now that Zelda is over we are working on Metroid Prime 3. We played 1 and 2 on the gamecube. The bosses are tough on this one but I don't have to beat them ;-) Another great game.
Nothing else on the radar currently except my son wangts Rock Band when it comes out. I am not sure about that one. Both the two games above have good stories that make it fun to watch the games, but you need someone with some skill to beat it.

Rock Band has transformed our house. All the kids love it, and my wife has become quite the drummer. We have it for the 360, but we have Guitar Hero for the Wii, and I expect that Rock Band will be terrific on the Wii as well.
We will also get Wii Fit when it comes out in a few weeks. Take a look at some of the movies on YouTube - looks like a great "game."
Apart from that, most of the Wii games go unplayed except Wii Sports. They tired of Zelda, Excite Truck and Spiderman pretty quickly.

My kids love Mario Kart. It gives me motion sickness so bad I get close to losing my cookies. Maybe that's why the kids like it . . .

Lots of great games out there, but for now I only have the Sports Pack, Wii Play, and Big Brain Academy.
Wife and I want to get Wii Fit as well, and Mario Kart looks like great fun. Thing is all these games are like $50 or more, and that seems like a lot to spend for how much time we actually have to play games. I would love to get into Mario Galaxy, or the latest Zelda game, but those seem like less social games than the others mentioned. We seem to play the most when we have friends over, so multiplayer / party games are more valuable to us.

Super Smash Bros. has got to be the most boring game in the world. Mario Kart, OTOH, is a blast.
