Wrong UPS Tracking Number
#1
okay, so this is a new one. i ordered a small item from Amazon Sunday night and decided to check on it's delivery date. here's what i found:

hmmm. if you notice, the item i ordered yestereday was delivered to Washington D.C. a year and a half ago. (i live outside Atlanta).

i've never seen this before. do i contact Amazon or UPS? or just forget it and see if this $6 item shows up on Wednesday as projected? (the UPS site has the same info also.)

A UPS rep has confirmed to me that they sometimes recycle numbers.

Apparently yours was recycled and they didn't clear the history. Don't worry.

I had the same happen with FedEx a few years ago.

I've had this happen w/ packages before. You'll get your package on time.

you read from the bottom up with UPS tracking
IOW the top of the list is where your package is.

If you read from the top down for progress then your package arrived at the UPS hub before it got picked up.

The last line shouldn't be there, but it was releases that number for re-use.
