The story is too long, but but I've been going round and round with them and end up cussing them out every time. Can they ban me if they've had enough?
Can AT&T ban me?

Ban you from what?
Giving them money? I suppose they COULD.. but I don't think it's likely unless you start sacrificing animals on the desks of some AT&T employees.. Then again.. that might be a good way to keep them from calling you to "upgrade your service"... or "change carriers".

They (as their previous Cingular incarnation) did unilaterally cancel my contract. I guess that's banning.

Yes, they can.

I'm talking about home service.

Are we talking home service or cell? Yes, they can ban you from cell service. It's their ball. They can go home with it anytime they like. They cannot refuse local service to you in your home since they are a monopoly.

"... they are a monopoly."
That's why I always end up cussing them - because they are a monopoly. Sounds like a viscous loop. I got the personal business number of a nice woman in the Little Rock office, so maybe I won't have to put up with their obnoxious phone tree anymore.

my guess is that you do have local options for service. they are routed thru at&t anyway, and all it will do is lower your level of service and their responsiveness to you.

They can banish you to the wilderness, shun you, exile you, snub you, make you walk the earth.
"Ban" only applies if there's something you want to "enter", and they deny you entry. Like a line at a nightclub. Or if you were a book they don't want their children to read, so they "ban " you. Are you a book? Otherwise, not sure how they can "ban" you. ![]()

Humor? R-r-r. Otherwise, not sure how they can "ban" you. Ban also means to prohibit. They could ban him from "entering" their network. |
