I always know where my towel is. At the moment it's at home hanging on the hook. The towel in my knapsack has reinforced seams, however. It may have a rather enlightened evolved fungal community growing on it at this time.

Interestingly, we noticed in Japan this week that there are no paper towels in the washrooms, and there are seldom any driers. We met up with a Japanese friend, and lo and behold, she pulled a towel out of her purse. She said that as children, Japanese people learn to carry around their own towel from an early age. Maybe Douglas Adams was part Japanese?
