I've always gotten it about 40% to 50% less than retail via eBay. The trick is to start looking for it long before you're at crunch time and really, really need it.

FWIW, never sweat the version number; it's a code. I buy .Mac from last year (or the year before) at much lower prices than even the discounted "this year" versions; it's all the same code.

I bought my last two renewals on eBay. I saved some money, but didn't get any major deals. Not ideal if your renewal date is looming. If you have plenty of time, just keep checking regularly, and search for it using a couple of spellings. Sometimes it gets listed in odd categories.

You can save on shipping if you can get the seller to send you just the code rather than the whole box.

It's $69.99 at Amazon with free shipping and no tax.

Just bought off ebay for about $65 with shipping and then found Royaldiscount.com for $60 no ship and $80 family pack. Amazon is $70 with free shipping. I watched Ebay for about a week and they all seemed to end $57.

$80 for the family pack is a really good price!

I'm on the fence for a single or the family. Most of the family features seem to be centered around unique emails and idisks, stuff we don't need, but would like one "centralized" family's .Mac for hosting common photos and videos. Maybe the thing to do is just get a single and sign up with a name not tied to a person, such as DeckedaFamily. Thanks for listening, just needed to talk it out.

If you want to get it on eBay, you need to start trawling early and regularly, and you will need to do it for more than a week, unless you get lucky.
