WTF- 2nd anniversary "cotton" theme?
#1
OK, I think I am in over my head here. My 2nd anniversary is coming up in a few days and I have nothing to give my wife. I see there is a theme that supposedly goes with every year, and for #2 the theme is cotton. That sounds so lame, I mean towels, sheets, robes, tablecloths... we have all that stuff already. That's what the wedding registry was for.

Who made up these yearly gift themes anyway? Is it just a guideline so you don't have to wind up buying her jewelry every year? Last year I got her a cool necklace from the place we had our reception at, but this year I have no ideas.

I wanted to get her the Wii Fit game, but we ended up buying that last week and already have it opened up.

Any ideas? All I can come up with now are some nice cotton slippers, but I can't imagine she would ever wear them, except maybe to make me feel good about buying them for her. I don't want to buy something like that, something she doesn't want or need, or will ever use.

Buy her some cotton panties and then sing her out of them in your best best Aaron Neville voice

Think outside the box - use cotton as a part of the larger/main gift: e.g., Cotton robes to use on trip (maybe the tickets stuffed into the robe pocket), beach towels for a beach getaway, etc.

Also, the modern gift (as opposed to the tradtional cotton) is china.

And to file away for the fourth year fruit gift: an "Apple" Mac, iPod, iPhone, etc.
