I hate moving
#1
Well the in-laws have finally moved to London. Although with the way they left their apt. you'd never have guessed it. I started at 6 this AM and just finished cleaning, moving furniture to our place, our friends place, goodwill, habitat for humanity, the dump etc. Sweet lord i am tired.

On the plus side, we did acquire a circa 1975 AKAI receiver, tape deck and record player.

You're telling me! We have been in our place for barely four months while waiting for the vacancy of another house. Now that it is we have less than 3 weeks to pack up and move.

moving is a great opportunity to purge all that old stuff you no longer need.

My favourite quote:
Two moves equals one fire.
Mark Twain

My wife wouldn't let me put that on our 'we've moved' postcards after our last move. So I didn't send them out.

My wife went to help her folks move. They're downsizing.

She came home with the van completely filled.

I was like..."where are we going to put all of this!"

She didn't seem worried about it.

I love moving. I try to do it once every year! Well actually, this is the first time in the last 4 years that I have not moved. It's good exercise anyway.

If you hate moving, maybe you are constipated?

its not so much the moving part. its the IN-LAWS moving. They had a moving company come and box up all their stuff and take it away to ship it to London. They'd planned on this for weeks. My wife had been back and forth to their place many times per day over those weeks.

Now. When I went over there yesterday, the place was PACKED. Packed is in full. It looked as if someone was still living there. There was food in the fridge, dishes in the cupboard, makeup in the bathroom, trash everywhere. Beds had linens on them etc. If someone DID move out of there, it looked like it was an evacuation. So i was NOT too happy. It was like a parting gift from the in-laws.

We get the parting 'junk' from the previous owner/tenant at every house we have moved in.
