Arrrghh - Me and shirts again
#1
Is this Me vs. my wardrobe week? I am sitting here and one of my collar tips is sticking out due north and the other is sitting pretty. It feels like I have a bug crawling on me. Very annoying. I finally realized that one of the plastic tips fell out of the back of one and the other one is still there - making either of my collar bones at odds. Do I keep it as is and try to find the other tip later at home or do I remove this one and chance rolling collar tips in a few washes?

Yes, the DNC is in town two blocks away and yes hardly anyone is here in the office so yes I have spare brain cells to think about oddities like this. Smile

you can turn a large paperclip into a temporary collar stay. (the plastic thingmabob that slips into a little pocket in your collar. Most shirts do not even have the pocket, the stay is sewn in permanently.

I still have a packet of stays from my great grandfather- they were made of bone.

Good idea. Bone, really? Makes sense.

If you absolutely need to get some collar stays, Brooks Brothers sells a set of them. Otherwise, order them off the internet. High quality shirts still have the removable stays.

rustbelt has this one. I would regularly lose collar stays to the cleaner and he would regularly replace them - until he ran out and refused to order more since no one ever relly those things any more.

A large size paper clip is almost perfect, just try to use a plastic coated one (rust stains are worse than no stays). Ask a cleaner for a bone stay these days and your likely to get tossed out.
