This reads like college paper reporting-- really strange to see it in the 'mainstream'.

What you call the mainstream is a scared corporate media mostly taking most of its orders from the right. I'll be surprised if there is any more actual vetting of Palin the Pretender.

Corporate media is not right wing...they have leaned so far left they are on the floor! LOL! Keep dreaming, Sam. Why do you think Bush is even still in office? Because he got a pass on about a bazillion offenses, starting with his cocaine abuse, deserting the Nat'l Guard, the Iraq War (knowingly telling lies in the lead-up, execution, no-bid contracts out the wazoo, graft out the yin-yang, and ending with ... well, it ain't over 'til it's over!

I love George Bush!

LOL! Keep dreaming, Sam. Why do you think Bush is even still in office? Because his opponents ran inferior campaigns? Because voters elected him? Was Clinton in office for eight years because the right-wing corporate media favored him? Media is neither right-wing nor left-wing, its real real bias is novelty, narrative, ratings, advertising revenues. Embracing novelty and thriving on conflict. When Clinton got elected, they liked the new narrative, the man from Hope, a baby-boomer candidate, a rare two-term Democrat. Then they embraced the next new narrative, a wartime President. Journalists were excited, they got to wear cool jackets ride in tanks, go on dangerous missions as embedded reporters. Now the new narrative is America's first viable black Presidential candidate, with Kennedy-style coolness. And on the other side, a quirky female candidate with a colorful story. Always the next new thing. Corporate media is also sort of a meaningless term, anyone with a legal assistant can register themselves and a few family members as a corporation. Joe's Brake Repair. Ben & Jerry's is a corporation. Big organizations and small can declare themselves a corporate entity. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, are they part of the vast right-wing corporate media? The only political bias media organizations have is the bias of the individuals that work in media organizations. Writers, journalists, broadcasters, reporters, editors. Communications School graduates. Products of Public University Humanities Departments. Not known for being a right wing bunch, as a whole. |
