$52,000 for a newly built house in FLA!!!

So I heard it on the news this morning. That is good news in this housing market, no? My S/0 thinks it is a bad idea to move there because FLA is considered the most dangerous place to live health-wise according to the CDC.

Nothing wrong with that!! In fact, I *prefer* the rural life. :cartman:

Yeah, I kind of doubt it's on the beach.

CDC considers it's dangerous because of the disease carrying mosquitoes.

Lee County Florida, west coast includes Ft Myers, etc.

It was on 'Today Show' this morning. Michelle Kosinski from Lehigh Acres. $250k home is now listed @ $52k. To summarize, the whole state of Florida has more real estate for sale {& foreclosures} than it has buyers.

The clip is here, if you can handle the intro ads: http://www.hulu.com/watch/36010/nbc-toda...-4,vclip,1

That's like saying California is dangerous because it has earthquakes, never mind that only a sliver of California along the coastline is the dangerous part. I'm sure that the entire state of Florida isn't uniformly blanketed with mosquitoes.

Au contraire! That's the catch -- until recently, it was a newly built house in TX! Thanks, Ike!
