Depressed? You want depressed? Meet George Will
#1
The boys (and one girl) on "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" did their election night predictions, which were pretty amazing, I thought. Anyhow, it got to George Will and here are his predictions:

378 electoral votes for Obama
Eight-seat pickup in the Senate for the Democrats
21-seat pickup in the House for the Democrats

http://blogs.abcnews.com/george/2008/11/...s-ele.html

I have gone over the map several times in the last week and I can't find 378 votes anywhere unless the barbarians break through the gates and start pouring hot oil on George. He has the air of an aristocrat on his way to the guillotine complaining that he told Louis to stop with the topiary already.

I have 326 votes in the office pool and side bets on North Carolina and North Dakota, but I might lose those. I bet they would stay red.

So I guess you're invested in the outcome. How much have you laid off in Vegas?

I also have a bet on Virginia going blue, so I have Carolina covered. North Dakota might cost me a fiver though. I will be able to pay the mortgage for another month maybe.

looking at http://www.electoral-vote.com/ - 378 isn't hard to imagine.

So you are thinking Indiana and North Dakota on top of what's already blue, mattkime?

So what are the oddsmakers saying about the election outcome? I wouldn't know how to look it up and understand it even if I wanted to, so I'd rather have somebody tell me. I've already researched Stevens' misuse of the word "appeal" this morning and BL's astrological sign. My Google page is tired. Smile

I predicted 363 for Obama in July and I'm sticking with it. Or I can go with Will, what the heck? I like his numbers even better than mine.

EDIT: I actually called 367. Short-term memory loss.

Doesn't North Dakota have that poison pill referendum on abortion or is that South Dakota?

South Dakota. South Dakota will turn Democratic at about the same time Myanmar does.
