Melamine, it's what is in your babies formula
#1
The FDA has backtracked from saying no melamine should be allowed, to setting a standard for contamination after finding positive results in many brands.

FDA, October 3, 2008 wrote:
Any level of melamine in baby formula, no matter how small, is a safety concern, but the precise level of risk cannot be quantified.

The new standard is 2.5 ppm (2500 ppb).

So instead of attempting 0ppm, 2.5 ppm is now good enough. Or a limit.
and if I can make a batch with zero I now need to add some in so the standard doesn't get lowered ?

Who was the deciderer ion 2.5 ppm ?
exact science or the science that was funded and paid for ?

Kind of goes along with this list (after the Glossary comes the list):

Don't you want to know how much insect filth, rodent filth, or mammalian excreta, etc., is present in your foods?

Might be gross but its unavoidable. The presence of melamine is solely because chinese food producers want to rip off/poison their customers.

No.
I found what might have been a mouse poop in a silverware drawer a few years back and cleaned every utensil, pan, pot, dish and cabinet in the kitchen.
Almost twice.

Unless you are in China you should be good to go.
You could get yourself tested just to be safe.
