iPhones from ATT: can't buy two
#1
ATT online chat person "Tina" told me that they are limiting online purchases of iPhones to 1 per household "to protect against fraud."

So I'm not allowed to buy 1 for my wife and 1 for me on a 3-person family plan. She said I can buy 1 online and 1 in the store. I told her we won't be switching from Verizon, she didn't care.

What a suck-ass situation and company. They won't even let you buy 1 refurb and 1 new! "1 iPhone per household" - what a load of crap.

So what is the fraud they are expecting you to commit? eBay sales or something like that? Horrors!

Have you tried buying one at AT&T online and one at Apple Online?

i guess that $99 refurb price is for new customers only? when i go into my att account and try to upgrade my old blackberry, it only gives me a $149 refurb option.

kiva,

did you try the link on the Techbargains page?

ya, it takes me to a page that makes me sign up for a new plan. It doesn't appear reachable through my existing ATT account...

great deal..would jump on it, if I could..

i also assume the refurbs have the 1yr apple warranty?

Kiva, I can't even get the $149 option when I log in to my AT&T acct. I'm not eligible for an upgrade until April so I am guessing that is the cause.
