Netflix Customer Service Kudos
#1
During the house straightening and cleaning for Thanksgiving, two Netflix DVDs were misplaced. I have turned everything in the house upside down and have not been able to find them. I called Netflix just now, explained the problem, and told them I wanted to pay for the DVDs so we could start receiving DVDs three at a time. They checked my account, noted that we had been a customer for a long time, and told me that there would be no charge. That's nice customer service.

I quit NF long ago, but I was able to report lost DVD without issue on the website. Seems that for at least the first 2 or 3, they'll take your word for it.

I'm sure they take into account how current the disc is. It HAS to be a cost of doing biz for them. They us US mail without tracking or insurance - these things ARE gonna happen.

They've also just changed their service a bit for the better in my opinion. If one of your discs is only available from a distant distribution center they'll ship the next disc on your queue to ensure that you have something to watch. In other words, you could have a 3 at a time subscription, but have 4 discs on hand if you like obscure films that are popular on the opposite coast.

One was "Indiana Jones/Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" which is current. The other was "The Namesake" which is a bit less known. I have reported maybe three others lost in the mail over the last several years.
