I don't think there are any safety features that exist that will protect you when you broadside a light pole at Ferrari/Porsche racing speeds.

You think just the fact that the Ferrari cost more than the Porsche, the guy would have said, hey I've won already.

Without seeing comprehensive crash test results, the two cars I would rate highest for 120 MPH crashes are Porsche and Ferrari, in that order. Any car today has a good chance at disintegrating in a crash over 100 MPH, especially when hit sideways like it looks that one was.
The passenger survived even though being thrown from the car. I wonder if she had seat belts on.

why dont the make light poles more crash worthy?
i mean with a "crumple" zone like cars? why do they have to be so damn strong?
its in freakin orange county no less -- only an earthquake could take it down -- and thats really rare

I don't know why, but just the mention of NASCAR in a thread about ferrari's bothers me. Could you change that to F1? kj.
