What's wrong with picking up the friggin' phone? Maybe he's posting to the forum from a computer different from the one where your email arrives.
When was it decided that I have to monitor all my email addresses at all times? I recently had a client complain that he couldn't reach me. I asked why he didn't phone my office so my assistant could help him. He said that since I hadn't answered his email he assumed I couldn't be reached.

Um...maybe it's because we have never exchanged numbers? Because I have never met him face to face? Because our communication through email is as strong as when I kiss my mom on the cheek for cooking a great chicken enchilada cassarole. It's who we are and how we do things.
We all know when we avoid people on the phone or in the office or even the neighbor that wants to borrow your computer that you don't want them to know you have and keeps ringing the doorbell. It's just the situation we are in. That's all. He is avoiding me and I just happen to see him living out in cyberworld.
