Minimal record on the BBB.
An entry on ResellerRatings.com with no reviews. Minimal results when searching Google for scam or ripoff complaints. Toll free phone number. Two locations listed in online Yellow Pages. Website has been online since 2005, currently registered with GoDaddy. Looks better than most but that is no guarantee.

hate to admit it, but Target has some decent stuff. look at their website - not much in the stores at least around here. we ordered two armchairs, an end table, a little bench with a cushion and all have held up fairly well in a years' time. not the highest quality, of course, but you get what you pay for.

Mike,
What kind of furniture are you looking to purchase? Believe it or not, you can literally furnish an apartment for a minimal amount of money by getting furniture via garage sales, estate sales, craigslist and freecycle. Since I have spent more remodeling my apartment than anticipated due to way too many surprises, I don't have as much cash to spend on furnishings. So, I'm following my mom's advice when it comes to furnishings: Don't spend money on crap. If you're going to spend your mone on furnishings, spend it on items that are worth the money. Otherwise, do without or scrounge it. With that in mind, I've purchased a few specific very high quality items but have scoured all of the above for additional furnishings. At this point, I've scrounged two very nice chests of drawers, one Ikea chest of draws which is solid wood but not nearly as nice as the other pieces, a solid oak round pedestal table (with a leaf) and four chairs, a small coffee table, two end tables, an antique wall clock, a 52" dining room table with pads and two chairs, service for eight of silverplate from circa 1930s, and various other goods. Cost to me for all of the above was less than $200.00. And, with the exception of the chest of drawers that definitely came from Ikea at some point, none of it is crap. This is all solid wood. The kind of items you'd spend hundreds to who knows how much for when purchased brand-new. I know because I priced out similar items and found I didn't have the cash for it. Some of the goods needed minor repairs due to scratching and loose bolts or a serious cleaning but other goods were in mint condition. Two pieces of advice if you're going to furnish a home via the above methods. Avoid upholstered furniture. You've no idea where it's been, what was on it, what was done on it and/or what literally lives in it. But, solid wood and metallic items such as silver, definitely grab when feasible! You'd be amazed at some of the excellent pieces you can find for sale at insanely reasonable prices. My reasoning is I'd rather do with scrounged pieces or do without than spend money on crap. Even then, some of the scrounged items I've gotten my hands on are actually excellent pieces of furniture. So, while I grabbed many of these items with the intention of using them temporarily, some are definitely worth keeping for the long-term. For the record, you can get some decent furnishings from Ikea and Target. Just avoid the particle board. The items won't be the best of quality but they are decent for the money. I have a mission style desk and several folding bookshelves from Target that have held up reasonably well. They were purchased out of necessity. These days, I wouldn't buy from either of those places unless in a rush or it's absolutely necessary. The exception being small 2'x 3' persian style rugs. Ikea has some very good ones for the $$$. Aside from that, you can do much better via garage sales, estate sales, craigslist and, believe it or not, freecycle. Heck, some of the people are selling the pieces they got from places like Ikea and Target because they don't need them anymore, are moving, etc. Robert
