Looking like MAYBE the US Freighter crew took the ship back, and captured a Somali Pirate...

Be interesting to see how this story develops.

(Personally, I'd be happy if the ship returned to port with a looooonnggg bloody streak across the keel in the shape of the captured pirate... and no pesky carcass to release because the US crew "violated his civil rights"...).

hang their bloody headless corpses from the yardarms as they come into port. maybe some nice video shots from overhead news copters with a nice zoom in. Maybe the US Navy can facilitate with a Seahawk or something.

Pirates are pirates. 1709 or 2009, makes no difference to me. Maritime law is still different from the Geneva Convention AFAIK.

Normally I would be shocked, SHOCKED and APPALLED I say, at that kind of talk. But, hey, being a pirate is dangerous work. He should have known that when he took the job.

The news report I read said that some of the pirates were "in the water.' Throw 'em overboard! Works for me.

These clowns actually tried to hijack a ship called the Maersk Alabama? Yeah, poor choice of target there, pirates. The average household in Alabama is better armed than the entire populace of Somalia.

They are usually more accurate using the AKs as a club........ But 5K rounds, eventually someone is going to be hit.
