I took an advice here to purchase two packages from Ritz camera. Very happy with them. Should I continue with the brand or try a better one? Tia
Are ENELOOP rechargable batteries still the best?

Eneloops are best for slow-discharge or long storage along with other brands with similar chemistry. If you go through batteries quickly, then a higher capacity one (2700MAh vs. 2000MAh for the Eneloops) will give you longer run time.

The slow-discharge and long storage ones I will need for wifi computer mice and keyboards. Other type is for our digital cameras.

I have a P/S that gobbles batteries that I use the normal higher capacity NiMH batteries in, and my Speedlight flash for my Canon 5D I use the Eneloops in so I know that the strobe should have enough juice in it for most sudden jobs.

I asked the same question a while back: http://forums.macresource.com/read.php?1...msg-681468
In a nutshell, the Eneloops are generally the best you can find when walking into a brick and mortar store. If you want to order online, you can find better but the Eneloops are still very good.

Hi everyone,
I noticed something interesting with Eneloop batteries and other NiMH rechargeables. My girlfriend owns a Samsung digital camera that uses AA batteries. I lent her some Powerex batteries, Ultralast batteries, and Sony batteries. All NiMH. None worked in the camera. despite working without an issue in a slew of my own electronics, i.e. alarm clock, cordless optical mouse, remote controls, etc. So, I broke out a brand-new package of eneloops. The camera worked perfectly with them. I'm not going to question it. I'm just happy I found a NiMH battery that worked because she was tearing through packages of alkaline batteries pretty quickly. Robert M wrote: eneloops have very small internal resistance, and the voltage does not drop much under load. that's why they worked in her camera. BTW: be careful if you short the, they will put out well over 10A and you don't want to mess with 10A

Costco bnm seems to have a decent deal on the Eneloops, fwiw.
