If you were looking to buy 5-10 Slot Loading iMacs... where to look?
#1
BESIDES eBAY...
Can anyone suggest a vendor that might have, or routinely get, some slot-loading iMac G3's (anything from 400-450mhz on up) for something reasonable?

I don't consider PowerMax price of $329 for a 400mhz to be "reasonable".... I'm thinking along the lines of under $200.

I'm doing some consulting for a school in desperate need of anything newer-than-beige. I'd like to stick with slot-loading iMacs or better...I can take those up to OS X later if they ever get away from OS 9... (they're THAT out of date...)

I'm NOT asking for donations..(that doesn't mean I wouldn't accept 'em... but I'm sure everyone here has a LOCAL school they could donate to instead).

Hi Paul,

Look at the new-and-improved LEM Swap List ... I've been seeing people post decent numbers of machines there for not too much $$$.

Thanks!

I'll take a look...

Most frustrating part about looking for computers or parts as a consultant is that I can't make the purchase for them...
They have a public school purchase order proceedure, and they can't pay by credit card either..

It's TOUGH finding used equipment from a vendor that takes purchase orders!

OK..mostly, I'm grumbling because I'm sitting here waiting for a system folder and application set to copy over 10Base-T to a Beige G3 with 32mb RAM....
This would be easier if I even had a good collection of OS 9 system-specific CD's... but what I had has kinda been scattered since my "main" school I work for is now 99.5% OS X.

macofalltrades.com

DISCLAIMER: macofalltrades is a rip-off, in my opinion. Their prices are usually high compared to other resellers.

Not a deal....

Paul, if you were willing to go with G4 towers instead of iMacs, I remember there was a guy on the swap list awhile back who had a bunch of those, of various specs/conditions...

I picked up a couple of palettes of them last year from a state auction.

Search the web for public surplus property auctions from both your state and the state university system.
