Why I hate customers
#1
Customer brings us a file to print.

"Oops. I have changes."

"No problem. $50 minimum."

"Oh dear. That's a lot."

"You could always make the changes yourself and give us a new file."

"Well, you see, I didn't create the file. I hired someone to do that, and she'll charge me $55hr."

"Well then, your choice is clear."

"I don't understand why it costs so much to make a simple type change when printing 500 of them only costs $65."

"Well, now ya see, we don't actually sit here and paint each card individually, lady. We gots this big ol' machine that handles that pretty efficiently. I suppose if we did do that, your 500 color business cards would cost you $1.7 million dollars and they would be ready to pickup sometime in 2021."†

I think if I ever won the lotto and was filthy rich I would take retail jobs and give customers honest answers instead of the standard politically correct answers. I would be fired a lot I'm sure but it would be a lot of fun!

In my shop, not only would it have been said, it probably wouldn't have been said quite so nicely.
My customers also get brutal honesty. 100% of the time.
Sometimes straight up is nice.

I have far more respect for people who tell me the truth than I have for those who tell me what they think I want to hear.

If you tell me the truth vs an excuse, I will be far happier, and usually continue to do business with them. Sh*t happens, but don't try and cover up the stench and convince me it doesn't exist. I can see it on your shoe where you missed a spot......
