wmv to DVD
#1
is there a way to burn a WMV file to a DVD so its playable on a home DVD Player. I suppose it would need to be converted?

I recently installed flip4mac, and then I was able to use QuickTime to export a WMV to a DV file, although it didn't export the audio track, so I had to export the WMV file to an AIFF also, then I had to combine the DV video and the AIFF audio. The resulting file could be burned to a DVD via iDVD or similar (this wasn't my goal).

Maybe there's a simpler solution (i.e. maybe iDVD will simply read the WMV file with flip4mac installed), but it will be doable.

I think if your WMV is a newer one (WMV3) there is nothing on the Mac side that will play it.

well, I have no problem viewing the wmv in Quicktime (I have flip4mac installed), but it doesn't give me any options to save or export in QT. I do have QT Pro btw.

I'm pretty sure ffmpegx will do it.
