QuickTime question

My Quicktime 7.0 wouldn't launch, so I downloaded 7.6 for Tiger. Do I need to drag the old (apparently corrupt) version to the Trash before opening and installing the new version?

Hey, I'm sorry, but stuff like this is just supposed to work on a Mac, isn't it?! Why should I know what I need to do?!

When you move the new one to the applications folder (probably automatically), it should just overwrite the old one.
