Free Used LW 16/600 - How Turn Off the Startup/Configuration Page?
#1
Hi,

I was recently given a LW 16/600 PS with a 61k page count. I am running OSX 10.5.6 on a Mac Pro. I was able to telnet to the printer and set it up for ethernet printing on my network.

I only print a few pages per week so I only turn on the printer when I print something (normally one or two pages). Every time I power on the printer it prints the Startup/Configuration Page. This is almost doubling my paper and toner use.

Is it possible to turn that off? If so how? I don't see am option on the telnet menu to do that.

Could I turn it off if I find someone running classic/local talk using the LW Utility?

Thanks :-),

I picked up an old G3 iMac (free) to do just that

Hi,

I can borrow a neighbors Mac:
My older G3 laptop is still classic functional, it's here at the house. We also have an older tower that will boot into OS9 as well, but it's down at the office....

The man that traded me the printer sent this:
I was able to do this with the standard ethernet cable, in OS9 Classic, and the LaswerWriter Utility.

So I can do this with a Standard ethernet cable and a G3 laptop?

Any tricks or tips?

Thanks!

Mitch
