So, I'm on FaceBook. My new Android also easily lets me link to a Twitter account, which I don't have. Do I want one?-gc

I use Facebook only for interpersonal, "this is what I'm doing/thinking, what are you doing/thinking" sort of stuff. My current status is: "Wondering if anyone out there has a doozy Excel question."

So, given that, if someone actually cares what I think, why would that want to hear it from Twitter versus Facebook?

Thanks!

IMHO, you're too thoughtful a person to spend your whole day posting brief banal tweets about your lifestyle.

Unless you want to.

Avoid Twitter. It makes you look bored. Now Facebook is a different matter.

True that. I think after posting all his banal* one-liners to MR, there isn't enough banality left for twitter.

Anyway, before deciding whether to get a twitter account you need to ask yourself an important question...are you a twit?

*I love the word "banal". It makes me feel like I'm in an Ingmar Bergman movie.

I signed up for a Twitter account but I never tweet. I chose to follow MacFixIt but I never look at their tweets either. If I had someone that cared what I was doing hour-to-hour day-to-day maybe it would be useful. I could see where it might share a niche with texting, though for a wider audience. (Whatever texting is for, anyway...)
