Nice price. I think my folks paid $250 for theirs back in April.

Someone mentioned in a recent thread about the slow speed and clunky interface of the Time Capsule - anyone care to comment ? Perhaps it was Time Machine and not Time Capsule. I have two users that could use an inexpensive back up. One currently has none and the other has one of my FW drives I would like to get back. Any opinions on Time Capsule either with or without Time Machine ? The wireless aspect would be good for both One user (my sister) has an iMac & MacBook Pro - both with lightweight back up demands Other user (a client) has MacBook Pro and currently has no wireless router (go figure) so this would allow them to back up and also add wireless access - correct ? TIA

Do I understand this correctly? This would for less than the price of a new AEBS, provide a replacement for my 802.11g Airport Extreme Base Station, giving me 802.11n, AND a sufficiently large wireless Time Machine backup drive for use with my newly arrived refurb MacBook on which I am about to put 10.6? If true this could be a deal not to pass up.

Experience a high-speed wireless network and a breakthrough way to back up all the Mac computers on your network. All in one device. Print command central. The included USB port is great for sharing a printer throughout your wireless network. Time Capsule and the Bonjour networking technology let everyone in the house or office — Mac and PC users alike — take advantage of one centrally located printer. And if you want to share both a printer and an additional hard drive, you can. Just connect a USB hub to Time Capsule. Whatever the combination, Time Capsule divides and conquers."

I assume that this TC does not have the dual band Wi-Fi like the newest TC and that is why it is so much cheaper than the Apple refurb?

Also, I noticed that Time Capsule and Airport Extreme were both showing as "new at the Apple Store" on Tuesday, but what exactly did Apple improve with these two. I looked around, but couldn't really tell what the improvement was, especially with the AE.

I read some minor improvements - something like, the new AEBS ships with 802.11n final and not a draft version, and also some antenna improvements which are said to increase speed and range, making TM backups faster.

I don't think that it has the dual band. I was in the market for a new base station as my extreme is starting to act up. I thought that this was a good deal for those who might have the same need.
